Kingston’s Queer Underground Punches Fearlessly Above Ground

BoomHead, November 18, 2024November 17, 2024

As Kingston emerges from the shadow of COVID-19, the city’s nightlife scene has come alive with fresh energy and diversity, offering new opportunities for queer event brands to shine. These brands are stepping up their marketing game, promoting their parties and game nights boldly on Instagram, Twitter, and through email campaigns. Events are being held in the heart of Kingston, in the scenic hills, and along nearby beaches, catering to various tastes and experiences.

Women now enjoy exclusive girls-only parties, men have their own guys-only gatherings, and other brands create inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive together. Despite this progress, there remains a wealth of untapped potential in this underserved market, which boasts significant spending power. Cheers to the continued rise and flourishing of queer culture, coexisting vibrantly alongside the broader Kingston nightlife scene!

And I will forever say this, yeah, there are a tiny group of actual homophobes in Jamaica, but for the most part, it’s the hypocrisy for me. We’re hypocritical, not homophobic.
